Under health reform legislation signed into law by President Obama,
insurance companies that offer individual policies to children under the age
of 19 can no longer deny coverage to those children based on pre-existing
medical conditions. As a result, some insurance companies decided to stop
offering individual policies to children altogether.To provide these
children with access to health insurance, a new state law was passed,
creating an Open Enrollment period for child-only plans.
Now through Tuesday, March 1, children in California under the age of 19 are
